Commodore Advert - March 1981
From Practical Computing
"The Commodore PET offers you a safe passage through the primeval swamp of computerisation"
The advert had a point - there were seeminlgy hundreds of different manufactures around at this point all producing different systems with different CPUs on different architectures, and having (by now) scanned through quite a lot of adverts, many of these systems appeared for a few months and then were no more. So this advert is more of a "brand message" than a direct advert for a particular computer, placing Commodore as a brand that the buyer could trust. And it was true for the next ten years and a bit - Commodore were as yet to release the VIC-20 in the UK, and the C-64 and Amigas were just twinkles in the eye.
