Tangerine Advert - January 1983
From Your Computer
Oric-1 - created by Tangerine
Tangerine had been around for a few years, selling a 6502-based one-board computer called the Microtan. This was abandoned after around 10,000 systems had been sold, but was rescued by Microtanic computers in 1983. Meanwhile, Tangerine's technical director Paul Johnson founded Oric Products International in St. Ives (also the original home of Sinclair Radionics) in order to develop the Oric, but this advert clearly shows the transition before this happened, when the Oric-1 is advertised as made by Tangerine.
