Altos Advert - May 1980
From Personal Computer World

In essence, the best in integrated circuit technology
First released around 1978, Altos is still offering the same machine - the ACS 8000 - in this advert from Altos's exclusive distributors in the UK, Logitek, based in Chorley, Lancashire.
Altos is still claiming the hardware is "in essence, the best in integrated circuit technology", but two years is a long time in computing.
The technical spec is unchanged, with a "fast" 4MHz Z80 CPU, 64K of dynamic RAM and a 1K programmable EPROM.
However, the peripherals have improved as there's now a Winchester hard disk system available as an option which means the ACS 8000 can now support up to four users, making use of the multi-user MP/M version of CP/M. The Winchester disk offered up to 58 Megabytes of storage.

Part of a similar advert for the ACS 8000, also from Logitek, showing the machine in use in an office environment with four terminals attached. By this time - a year later - the 8000 also came with communications, scientific and custom graphics software. From Practical Computing, March 1981
Logitek - a division of E.I.C. Electronics Ltd and not the manufacturer of keyboards and so on Logitech - appeared to have its own software house - Interface Software Limited of Camberley in Surrey - which had apparently installed its "proven off-the-shelf business software" onto over 1,000 computer installations.
