Isobel and Harry do a spot of Joe Wicks
nosher.net
We haven't been to the beach for ages, and so rectify that with a trip to Southwold on a nice day. Luckily, reports of the place being over-run by all the second-homers who escaped London prior to Lockdown 3 turn out to be not apparently true, as it's fairly quiet, for Southwold at the weekend at least. Before that, Microsoft has arranged a guest online fitness session for staff with none other than Joe Wicks, the fitness coach who became famous through the original lockdown.

Isobel and Harry do a spot of Joe Wicks
Harry gets really into star jumps
The Rotary Club Santa sleigh down at the Mere
Another view of the abandoned tourist office
A damp Mere Street
There's a big queue for the chip van
Damp paviers in Norfolk Yard
Somebody chats to a passing rozzer car
The top end of a wet Mere Street
Pigeons cling to the roof of the old tourist office
Harry in Morrison's car park
A load of shopping in the car
Local schoolkids have made gingerbread houses in Morrisons
A thousand gulls take to the air
Harry points at shrubs in Bloom's nursery
The warm glow of Beard's Deli on Church Street in Eye
A return to Southwold pier
The boys leap off the sea wall
Walking along the promenade
Harry hurls himself off the wall
Fred considers the next jump
Isobel has a go too
A seagull whirls around
Harry leans on a groyne and stares out to sea
Fred has a lie down
The lighthouse on St. James's Green
We queue up for fish and chips
A peeling 'out' sign on Mark's chipper
We order some food
Fred and Harry hang around
Looking down Station Road
A neon Fish and Chip sign
Fred looks around
The sadly closed Lord Nelson pub
We eat our grub outside the Sailor's Reading Room
Looking up East Street
It's only 89 nautical miles to Hoek van Holland
Down to the beach
There's more leaping from the boys
A discarded furry glove
The end of the pier
Isobel takes a video
Harry McGap Face
The boys have one more leap
We hang around by the bogs
It's a first as we're the only ones in the Under the Pier show
Isobel looks around
Fred's in the Bathyscape
The very quiet Under the Pier show
Harry looks into the Expressive Photobooth
Fred looks into the eyes of a fly
The sun sets behind the lighthouse
Isobel looks at the sea
The boys look at Tim Hunkin's water clock
One of Tim Hunkins' copper dudes
Harry in a comedy mirror
A lifebuoy
Some of the overflow dedication plaques
People wander the beach in the spray of the sea
Seagulls wheel around
Harry and Fred on the pier
The gang under the watchful eye of George Orwell
People on the hazy beach
The fish and chip place on the pier is closed
Line-art ice cream cones
Isobel looks at irreverent posters
Harry looks at Boris Johnson driving a fly
The 80s Retro Room
Isobel does the 2p coin pushers
Harry and Fred on the coin pushers
Fred roams around with tickets
The Covid-quiet amusement arcade
Isobel waves around her ticket winnings
Harry feed the ticket eater
We head back to the car
The empty car park
Southwold Pier in the dusk
A lone swan floats around in front of the tea rooms
Beach huts in the car park
Saturn and Jupiter are nearly together
Saturn, Jupiter and the moons of Jupiter
