There's a rainbow over the flooded golf course
The Christmas Eve Floods, Diss, Norfolk - 24th December 2020
Heavy rain falls on sodden ground, and as usual the Waveney river running along the edge of Diss floods, however it's much worse than usual as a bike ride in to town reveals. The junction of Victoria and Sawmills Roads is particularly bad, isolating the new-ish care home opposite Desira garage, but luckily a dude is on hand with a high-wheeled lorry to help ferry staff through the floods.

Floods near the old-people's home
There's not much golf to be played today
The field on Stuston Road has predictably flooded
Large parts of the golf course are flooded
Some flooded houses
The fire engine is on standby for pumping
Householders look out
The White Elephant is surrounded by water
There's some sort of flooded TV
The fire engine is partly blocking the road
Traffic lights in a shallow lake
The Serious Loggin' lorry has the wheels for it
Thumbs-up from the Serious Loggin' driver
Driving through the floods
The junction of Sawmills Road
Sawmills Road
Someone walks through the floods to Desira
Abandoned cars and a floating wheelie bin
Desira Garage is cut off
The garage staff rescue some cars
A Land Rover makes it through
A traffic island becomes an actual island
Serious Loggin' comes back from the care home
The old chapel
The staff get a lift to the care home
A For Farmers HGV ploughs through the flood
The Waveney has predictably flooded near the Lows
The footpath was flooded to cycle-pedal level
The footbridge peeks out above the water
The water-level marker has disappeared in The Mere
The peeling sign of the Laundrette in Mavery House
The Laundrette - Lettuce wash your duvet
Mavery House
The small house by the White Elephant is surrounded
Another view of the submerged golf course
The meadow near the gold club
The flood is right up to Waveney Caravan Park
Nosher's bike, and a Triumph Herald
Water bubbles up from the drains near the Stuston S bends
Angry sunset over the sodden side field
