The steps to the hostel's roof-top garden
Montjuïc and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Barcelona, Catalunya - 30th April 2005
A vigorous non-stop walk all the way from our hostel off La Rambla to the top of Montjuïc is hard enough work on a pretty hot day, but is worth the view from the top. Occasionally the view through hordes of tourists is clear enough to even see over the whole city. Then, The Boy Phil wants to go and see the Nou Camp, which is some kind of footballing facility. Finally, we end up where Ninja M's Kuk-sool Won competition is meant to be - Sant Feliu de Guíxols - only to discover that no-one has heard of it, and we were probably meant to be in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, or at the very least some other Sant Filiu other than the one we were in. Luckily we made it back to the airport in time, after an arduous train/bus/taxi ride back, but it was close.

Down on Las Ramblas
Statues on the Columbus Colón
A bird's-eye view of tourist buses
Looking up Rambla de Santa Monica
A view down Paseo Colón
Graffiti at the top of the Colón
The view down from the top of Columbus Colón
The Boy Phil and Ninja M
A statue is throwing a contrail javelin
The Boy Phil reads a 'Rough Guide' to Barcelona
A wicker chair
Art sales on Las Ramblas
A dude waits for a painting to sell
More artists
A side street
Ninj M writes a postcard
A view over the whole city from Montjuïc
Waling the dusty path
The boy Phil looks at a gun
A 30cm gun
Ninja M wanders through Montjuïc fort's entrance
Right or left? Left or right?
View over Barcelona with La Sagrada Família
Another city view
Ninja M and Phil on a wall
The Boy Phil eats something
Nosher and Phil
Some dude leans on a gun
Thousands of containers lined up on the dockside
Another artillery piece
Ninja M meanders around
The flags of Spain and Catalunya
Phil on the wall
A sort-of infinity pool
Phil stands on some stones
A pavement made up with cogs and gears
On the Metro's Green Linea 3 near Drassanes
The Boy Phil in the changing rooms
In the team baths
Jon and Phil
The Boy Phil on his pilgrimage
Some kind of football stadium
Jon and Phil in the stands
Sport: it says it like it is
Up in the press box
Didgeridoo players on Las Ramblas
Café culture
Some Hare Krishna types do their thing
On a megaphone
The Krishnas pass by
More café life
A lot of lights
In a quiet side square, some boys play football
The moped dudes
A girl does some ribbon work
A wedding with a Rolls Royce takes place
Confetti is lobbed around
We're at the Café Triton
Time for lunch
There's an outdoor concert in aid of the CGT
The CGT socialist-anarchist group of Catalunya
