A Pub Walk to Ampersand, Diss, Norfolk - 17th November 2024
It's time for another pub walk, and this time we decide to head over to Diss. The route starts with a walk to the Crossways at Scole for a quick beer, and then continues via Miller's Lane - a path just off the Scole Bypass that had been seen on a summer BSCC bike ride, thanks to Gaz's off-road route. That joins up to the path past Frenze Hall - where we stop to explore the 13th-century church of St. Andrew - which then joins up with Sandy Lane for a short walk down to Ampersand. After a couple of beers there, we walk out behind the golf club to cross what used to be farmland and which is now an extension of the golf course to cross the A143. Then it's the path behind All Saints at Stuston and the fields up beside the B1077 to Brome. All in all, it's a nice varied walk of about eight miles.
