The remains of the Bedfield Crown pub
A Return to Bedfield and the Church of St. Nicholas, Suffolk - 11th July 2024
Fred's doing his Grade 7 flute exam performance recording in Bedfield, so there's an hour to kill whilst waiting. This gives a chance for another walk up to the church of St. Nicholas, as well as a bit further down the road into the village. There's then a return a few days later as it has been decided to do another recording for the exam.
next album: Back on Mill Road, North Romsey, Cambridge - 12th July 2024
previous album: Eye Karate Kamp, Southwold Harbour, Suffolk - 6th July 2024
The church of St. Nicholas in Bedfield
A bricked-up window and a memorial bench
A nice candelabra in front of a window
Looking west, and a giant former arch
Looking east up the nave of St. Nicholas
A Norman door, unused now
A Norman chancel wall can be seen in the extension
A field of purple phacelia
Another view of St. Nicholas, from Bedfield Hall
There's an old Boulton and Paul sign on a shed
A disused K6 phonebox in Bedfield
There's a memorial to the old A/B phone buttons
A sign for the old Bedfield playground, since moved
The K6 phonebox in the weeds
The letterbox has an unusual aluminium ER plate on
A wheatfield with poppies in Bressingham
Part of the Mediaeval rood screen
Here resteth the body of Thomas Dunston, 1657
The red and green Mediaeval rood screen
A plain glass window
The part-Norman chancel on a sunnier day
The mediaeval porch
An old farm diesel pump
