Saxtead Mill, Framlingham Gala and Chips on the Beach, Aldeburgh - 27th May 2024

Nosher and Isobel - minus the boys, who can't be arsed as usual - decide to head to Aldeburgh for something to do. On the way, we spot a few classic cars outside the Old Mill House on Saxtead Green and decide on the spur of the moment to stop for a look. This turns out to be a meeting of a Morris Owners' Club, and a chat with one of the organisers leads us to the Saxtead Post Mill, which is having a special open day, so we have a look round that and climb to the top. Then, as we're driving through Framlingham, it becomes apparent that something's about to occur, which turns out to be a gala parade, so we stop again to watch a short but colourful carnival in the rain. Eventually, we make it to Aldeburgh - where there's another classic car meet - and get some chips from The Galleon to eat on the seafront. And we'd have probably missed all of it if we hadn't stopped to look at some old cars.
