Grandad's at the doctor's after another fall
The Eye Piggy Tail Trail and Ipswich Dereliction, Suffolk - 29th July 2022
Nosher and Harry do a bit of the Piggy Tail Trail in Eye, then Grandad's off to Ipswich Hospital for some sort of eye test, so there's a bit of hanging around to do. This gives a chance to check out the latest state of dereliction around Upper Orwell Street, Carr Street and over to Rope Walk, where the biggest shock is that the former Suffolk County Council social club has finally been demolished.
next album: The World Cube Association Rubik's Competition, St. Andrew's Hall, Norwich - 31st July 2022
previous album: A Trip to Framlingham, Suffolk - 28th July 2022
Harry's got a bit of ennui
Harry roams around the car park in a blanket
A pig with wings outside the church
A pig in the style of Van Gogh's starry night
Southwold, as possibly imagined by Van Gogh
Harry does some moves
A flowery pig
A pig as Harry Potter
Harry points out another pig at the castle
A derelict building behind the castle
A cheeky pig bottom
It's a classic: an abandoned shopping trolley
The Gospel Centre on Castle Street
Sargeant Trotter in a shop window
A piglet called Porgie
A bright pastel piglet called Francis
Harry checks out sweets in the Co-op
Multi-coloured piglet in the Fabric Shop
The former Global Netcafé
The Dhaka Restaurant is still going
The Spread Eagle pub on Fore Street
An empty shop on Upper Orwell Street
A tin shed in a back yard
The Bagel Bakery has been demolished and rebuilt
Wasteground next to the former Ipswich Bagel shop
The shell of St. Michael's church
The former Co-operative building
The Ipswich Regent on St. Helen's Street
The former Bert's Sandwiches
St. Helen's Court is still criminally derelict
Buddleia takes over St. Helen's Court
The previous project appears to have failed
The old council chambers
The site where the SCC social club used to be
Central City Comics manages to survive
An owl on Tacket Street
The square on Cornhill has been tarted up a bit
Debenham's is still derelict
Looking up Westgate Street
A 60s block of shops on Carr Street
A 1908 building: Each for all and all for each
A derelict department store
More empty shops on Carr Street
The Ipswich Industrial Cooperative Society building
More empty shops on the top of Carr Street
A grey owl outside the former Odeon Cinema
The Giles fly-swat statue on the public bogs
An actual pay phone in a phone box
The closed-down Pattiserie Valerie
Suffolk Building Society in the old Parr's Bank
Another owl, on Princes Street
Inside the derelict BHS
A Herring Gull pecks at a discarded sausage
Ipswich Hospital's maternity building
Old railway buildings between Shimpling and Burston
It's busy at the Burston Crown
The Burston Strike School
Sponsored stones in the Strike School
Inside the Strike School
