Ian Dunwoody shouts 'vote for a tree'
Uni: PPSU Sabbatical Election Hustings, Plymouth - 10th February 1986
There's a final elections hustings prior to the following day's elections for some of the sabbatical posts in the SU - at least those of President and Information and Communications Office (I&CO). Mark Wilkins, the current I&CO, is in the frame for President (assisted by some marketing and leaflet design courtesy of Nosher and the Polytechnic's Prime mainframe and graphics plotter), as is Rich Arnold for a second term. It's also the first appearance of Ian Dunwoody, who would win the election to become the following year's controversial I&CO. His election tag lines were along the lines of "Vote for a Tree" and a hat with "VD" on it, for "Vote Dunwoody" but also an acronym for Venereal Disease.
