We stop at a services at Ballinalack
We're on the road again, this time from Monkstown Farm in Dublin up the M4 to SALA - the St. Angela's Lakeside Aparthotel - a bunch of student accomodation blocks on the shore of Lough Gill in Clogherrevagh, just a few miles outside Sligo. We arrive a bit early and so the apartment isn't ready, so we drive a bit further into Manorhamilton to see Philly and Davida. After that, we check out the facilities at SALA, including a well-equipped, if somewhat archaic, gym, and Isobel goes for a swim in the lough. The next day, we meet up with Philly and Rachel at Strandhill for a walk past the airport to the church of Cill Easpaig Bhróin, which was where St. Patrick was said to have lost a tooth after tripping over on rough ground.

We stop at a services at Ballinalack
Keyrings are re-arranged in an amusing way
Isobel and the boys at Mace in Ballinalack
Harry interacts with Philly's dog
Harry gives the cat a stroke
Isobel has a little sit down
There's a cockerel in the kitchen
Fred hangs out with the dog
Philly, Isobel and Harry have some tea
We head into Supervalu in Manorhamilton
Isobel and Harry in Supervalu
Harry has a go of a punchbag in the gym
Fred checks weights out in St. Angela's gym
Harry tries out a treadmill
St. Angela's pride staircase
ATU's St. Angela's campus
Mystery brick sheds down by the lake
A view of Lough Gill
Isobel and the boys look out over the lake
The placid waters of Lough Gill
Lumpy hills across the water
Isobel roams around the St. Angela's campus
We're at Lough Gill the following morning
Isobel heads into the lough for a quick swim
Isobel bobs around in the lough
Harry and Isobel at the top of the steep path
Very 1960s architecture at the Science building
A view from the roof of our apartment block
Old Covid messaging on the floor
On the balcony out of the flat
An old Peugeot 508 in the car park at Strandhill
Fred amongst the rocks of Strandhill
There's a 'surfer' on a foiling board
The boys poke around in the rocks
Isobel sits on the wall
There are quite a few surfers out
A derelict B&B
Dereliction around an old B&B
It's popular on the sandy part of the beach
The dunes have been closed off to walkers
Fred on the path back to the town
Dodgy paint job: too late to die young
Harry and Rachel start work on a cairn
Rachel surveys the finished cairn
We set off on the path to Cill Easpaig Bhróin
A random beach construction
Isobel follows the group in the dunes
There's some sort of giant drain on the beach
The wide and empty beach of Strandhill
Harry stands by a wrecked lifebuoy
There's an interesting rock on the beach
Graffiti on a wall
Harry's got a stone in his shoe
Isobel sets off across the end of the runway
The runway of Sligo Airport at Strandhill
A Cessna taxis up the runway
Philly looks out with his binoculars
We've made it to Killaspugbrone
A helicopter clatters around
Isobel goes for a paddle
The Nun's Beach at Killaspugbrone
Killaspugbrone Church
Inside the ruins of the ancient church
A slit window in the church
Isobel walks out through the former gate
Harry and Fred on the Nun's Beach
Isobel and Philly chat on the beach
The ruins of Cill Easpaig Bhróin
We walk back to Strandhill
Another little Cessna is doing touch-and-goes
A line of cairns on the beach
Isobel places an order at Fire Dough Pizza
A sort-of selfie in shiny metal
Fred tries on Rachel's glasses
Surf boards get hosed down at the end of the day
We get some ice cream in Mammy Johnston's
Rachel has a go at the Claw Machine
Loads of shiny plastic golden balls
Harry helps out by getting a golden ball
A bird on the Wild Atlantic Way sign
