There's nice bruschetta for a starter
By way of a birthday activity, and to escape the 32°C heat, we head over to Felixstowe, where we start with lunch in our favourite Italian restaurant - Alba Chiarra, right on the sea front. After that, we go for a short walk up and down the promenade, where it appears that most of the entire teenager population of Suffolk is hanging out on the beachg, in various combinations of unsuitable dress and sunburn.

There's nice bruschetta for a starter
Harry gets stuck in to his game ragu pasta
Isobel shows off her fancy risotto
Harry's on his phone
Someone's got a lot of cardboard boxes
Isobel comes back from the deli section
The sadly-derelict Felixstowe pier
The entire teenage population of Suffolk is out
A nice sequence of colours on the beach huts
The promenade is very busy
The beach at Felixstowe
The Undercliffe promenade
We walk back past the Alba Chiarra
The sea almost blends with the horizon
Isobel and Harry outside the new public bogs
Climbing the steps to the clifftop
Flowers on the cliff
A view of the pier
1900s buildings on Bent Hill
An empty shop
Isobel heads out of Onion Records
The fish and chip shop on Orwell Road
The A14 is still hosed on the eastbound side
