A Postcard From Horham, Suffolk - 27th April 2024
We're in Horham, a few miles down the road, for the funeral of Colin - stalwart of the Brome Swan and its cycle club, bowls player, entrepreneur and all-round top bloke. Afterwards, Jill's laid on a bar and food over the road at the Horham Community Centre, a building which Colin actually helped move from its previous home on Cadbury/Schweppes' site in Hendon, which was then rebuilt at its present location between 1979 and 1981. Before that, we're in Norwich for a bit, then the BSCC is out to the Black Horse at Thorndon, followed by the Beaconsfield Arms in Occold.
next album: Visible Touch at The Riverside, Woodbridge, Suffolk - 28th April 2024
previous album: A Walk to the Crossways Inn, Scole, Norfolk - 21st April 2024
Isobel's outside Orient Express in Norwich market
We back at the car in St. Giles car park
The Boy Phil rests his eyes in Thorndon Black Horse
Isobel interacts with a massive dog in the Beaky
A dog looks sad in the Beaconsfield Arms
St. Mary's Church, Horham
The community centre that Colin helped move
There's a carpet of pink blossom
Simple painted glass in several windows
An appropriate kneeler
St. Mary's 15th-century font
The nave of St. Mary's
Another view of the pleasant churchyard
The back of St. Mary's, and its Norman door
The old school house, and a K6 phone box
A large but derelict house on the main road
Another view of St. Mary's in Horham
Inside the community centre
A random shed in the car park
We load up into the Boy Phil's car
We end up for more pints in the Oaksmere
Hint: you can use the left and right cursor keys to navigate between albums, and between photos when in the photo viewer
