Christmas Music with the GSB, Gislingham, Suffolk - 15th December 2023

One of the Gislingham Silver Band's favourite gigs of the year - carols at the Yaxley Cherry Tree - is off this year on account of the pub being closed, so the band decide to host its own at the village hall in Gislingham. It's a free event, so we have no idea how many people might come along, and it's also bring-your-own food and drinks. We're thinking half full would be a good turnout, but as it happens it's a full house, and some of the audience have laid in quite impressive table-top picnics. The band plays Christmas music and carols for a couple of hours, and Fred gets to do his "Walking in the Air" solo on flute, to a big round of applause. Later on, Isobel and Harry are up at Occold village hall for an all-day pantomime rehearsal.
