The fire threatens to take out the other shed too
A Fire, a Fête, and a Scout Camp, Hallowtree, Suffolk - 30th June 2022
There's a massive fire next door, as a big shed made up of two second-hand electrical substation housings burns down, requiring three fire engines to put out (several times, as it keeps re-igniting). Then, it's the summer fête down at the primary school in Eye, after which there's a BSCC ride out to the Victoria pub at Earl Soham. A few days later, it's time for an anniversary dinner up at the Oaksmere, whilst Harry's off at his Cubs camp in Hallowtree near Ipswich.
next album: The Lord Mayor's Procession, Norwich, Norfolk - 2nd July 2022
previous album: Camping at the Lake, Weybread, Harleston - 25th June 2022
A wall of smoke drifts over the Oaksmere
The firefighters get the shed fire under control
Firemen stand around
The fire re-starts
The fire is more-or-less out now
The remains of the shed the next morning
The traditional Maypole dance occurs
A school fête in progress
Harry gets a barbequed burger
A nice Earth graffiti tag on a fence
Gaz gets a beer in the Victoria at Earl Soham
Gaz hauls a couple of beers over
On the green outside the Victoria
On the back roads to Occold
Paul at the bar of the Beaconsfield in Occold
Gaz roams around in a wheat field
Fred joins us for an anniversary drink
The Oaksmere's flower beds
Fred and Isobel wander back to the bar
Isobel in the Oaksmere's restaurant
Isobel hangs out with the cats in the garden
Isobel and the kittens
The cats do kitteny fisticuffs
At Hallowtree, the tents are taken down
Harry hangs around
There's a nice view over the parched grass
Andy P ties up another tent bag
Colin and Andy haul a tent away
The Explorers' scout hut
There's a short flag-lowering ceremony
Harry with all his camping stuff
Molly - Tiny Cat - flops about
