A star trail, width a smudge of comet
Hale-Bopp and Bedroom Demolition, Brome, Suffolk - 10th May 1997
Comet Hale-Bopp is on its way out after its once every 2,500-year visit, however trying to get a photo of it proves how much easier digital photography is, as it turns out that a long exposure of a comet isn't the thing to do. Later, there's the demolition of the middle upstairs bedroom, and in-between Danny and Lou from next-doors-but one and two decide to explore the suspect well under the drive, which involves some digging and drilling of a hole, through which we lower at least 14 metres of string before hitting the bottom.

A smudge of Hale-Bopp, showing its two tails
Hale Bopp dips below the tree line
The Sock is up a tree
Lou digs an exploratory hole by the side of the well
Danny Flint drills a hole in the well cap
The Old Man roams around on the landing
The old timbers, and some lath
The old child's bedroom wallpaper
A lone wall remains standing
The Old Chap peers through a destroyed wall
More wreckage
The Old Man takes a break on the stairs
A window in a sea of wreckage
Signed board: C Simonds, 1958
An old door hangs by itself
The Old Man pulls some nails out
A sort-of table hangs precariously over the stairwell
The timbers are boarded up again
