A Village Hall Quiz and a Dead Pub, Worlingworth - 21st August 2026
There's an unusual quiz in the village hall at Brome which involves guess-the-mystery-antique instead of questions. It proves to be quite difficult, and we only get a few of them right, but the quiz setters do go through all the things in the end with an explanation. There's also a chance to see an infamous Huntley and Palmer biscuit-tin lid which was done by an artist who was being let go as his paintings were considered too quaint. In revenge, he hid several lewd things in the design, including dogs shagging in the flowerbeds, and various copulating couples. A few days later, Harry's in Bedfield for his Grade 2 saxophone, so there's a chance to go and see the sad remains of the Worlingworth Swan - a pub once frequented by the BSCC and which closed for years before finally reopening, only to catch fire in 2023 and then close in limbo as the insurers won't pay out.
