On the road to Brome Street
Fred and the Suffolk Youth Wind Band (along with the Youth Orchestra and Suffolk Young Strings) finish up their four-day residential at the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook with a performance at the School Chapel, an impressive - if acoustically-challenging - building constructed in 1930. On the way back, we spot a fire which looks suspiciously close to the house, but which turns out to be a hedge fire across the field. It's tinder-dry leylandii so is roaring away fiercly, but luckily doesn't have a chance to spread before the fire brigade arrive. Before that, it's the second outing for the Brome Swan Cycle Club, with a trip to The King's Head at Brockdish, followed by a quick pint at the Oaksmere on the way back.

On the road to Brome Street
Cows munch on a pile of hay
Gaz and Fred look at cows for a bit
Isobel at the bar of the King's Head
Phil and Gaz are on their phones
There's a dog in a box, on a bike
Dog in a box heads off
We head inside as it's getting cold
Gaz and Isobel in the King's Head
There's a fancy chandelier in the pub
The King's Head in the dusk
Fred in the Oaksmere
We're back at the Royal Hospital School
The impressive RHS chapel, built in 1930
There's a stern bishop statue on the chapel
Inside the chapel
Nice lilac and blue window
The audience builds up
Interesting plain-glass windows
The orchestra 'pit'
The chapel in the gathering gloom
Part of the Royal Hospital School at night
Another interesting window, in the porch
There's an extreme-looking hedge fire across the field
