It's busy down at Seapoint Martello tower
St. Stephen's Day in Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland - 26th December 2024
It's St. Stephen's Day - aka Boxing Day - in Monkstown, and Isobel's off down to Seapoint to meet up with Meagan and have a quick dip in the sea. After warming up in a café we then meet up with Noddy, who's bought his dog Maude this time, so we go for a dog walk out on the mudflats at Williamstown, followed by a swift Guinness at Conway's in Blackrock. The next day, we're off to Dublin city so the boys can burn some Christmas money at the Lego shop on Grafton Street, and after pizza at Milano's, we're off to the airport where we discover just after we get there that the flight's delayed by at least 90 minutes. This eventually turns into about three hours, a delay made worse by the fact that it's late and so everything's closed. We finally get home at about 4.30 in the morning.
previous album: Christmas at Da Gorls, Monkstown Farm, Dublin - 25th December 2024
There are a lot of dogs out for walks
Harry's got his grump on as Isobel meets Meagan
Someone wanders down the road in a gold Dryrobe
It's misty down at Seapoint
Lots of swimmers bob around in the sea
Harry walks up Trafalgar Lane
Meagan and Isobel walk down Monkstown Road
A house is reclaimed by foliage
Goggins in the mist
The Spar on Monkstown Crescent
Harry is all ennui in Café du Journal
Sinéad O'Connor looks down from the wall
Café du Journal in Monkstown
Isobel and Meagan in the café
Extreme Christmas decorations in Monkstown
Isobel and Harry on Monkstown Farm
We flake out in Da Gorls' lounge for a while
A magpie steals something
Noddy has appeared with Maude the Doge
It's busy in the kitchen
Fred and Harry with Maude
Maude runs around as we walk on the mudflats
Fred lobs something for the dog
Noddy flings some seaweed around
Evelyn and Da Wheeze outside Insomnia in Blackrock
Da Gorls have stopped for a coffee
Isobel sits down in Blackrock
Noddy walks Maude around
Maude and Isobel in Conway's Bar, Blackrock
Conway's in Blackrock
Noddy, Maude, and some Guinness
No bins, except where there are bins
Idrone Lane, and the back of the old Breffni
Isobel, Jen Mac and Jen's dad in McKenna's
Frascati Road in Blackrock
Horse Show House and Madigan Square Garden
We walk up Leinster Street in Dublin
A decorated traffic light cabinet
Hidden Dublin, behind an opened roller shutter
More painted street cabinets
The top of Nassau Street
Tuxedo Cat paints the Mona Lisa in the Lego shop
A cool Lego Jaws set
Harry points at a Lego set
Fred looks at boxes of Star Wars stuff
Harry's found the Ninjago section
Fred gets a box of pick'n'mix Lego
The boys with their purchases on Grafton Street
Looking up Grafton Street in Dublin
Jack Nicholson on Grafton Street
The buskers Keywest on the top of Grafton Street
St. Stephen's shopping arcade
Fred checks stuff out in a record shop
Fred's found a squishy Minecraft pumpkin
Fred models a very sparkly blue hat
Keywest play to the crowds on Grafton Street
An assistant holds up some merchandise
A street-level view of Keywest
Evelyn and Isobel wander past the Gaiety Theatre
A guitarist plays Ain't no Sunshine
Dublin street life
George's Street Arcade in Dublin
Fred looks back as we walk the streets of Dublin
The boys in Milano's on Dawson Street
A pizzaolo assembles pizzas in Milano
Our giant pizza arrives
There's a giant golden gorilla next to Milano
The gang on Dawson Street
Interesting details on a lampost
A tourist buggy waits on St. Stephen's Green
A crowded Grafton Street
The guitar player has moved onto Grafton Street
The busker is still playing Ain't no Sunshine
Another crowd scene
Two young lads play trad on Grafton Street
Giant mistletoe on Weir and Sons
Back at the painted street cabinets
Fred's got his own namesake café
There's a game of Yahtzee in the lounge
Fred waits in the departure lounge at Dublin Airport
Everything's closed at Dublin Airport
A deserted travelator to the departure gates
We're picked up by buses at Stansted Airport
The loneliness of the abandoned suitcase
The boys catch up on present opening
Harry's got a Thing
