The BSCC at The Lion, Debenham, Suffolk - 2nd May 2024

The remains of the Brome Swan Cycle Club does what must be a first - a ride to a new pub. Well, not new as such as the pub itself dates from 1463, but it had been closed since at least when the BSCC started in 1995. However, it's been recently renovated and re-opened, in a nice, although sadly rare, antidote to what seems like a constant litany of pub closures. We make our way on the twelve-mile ride to Debenham via a slightly unusual route, thanks to Gaz's navigating of the lesser-known roads, and return more-or-less the same way, albeit via a ford - another thing not encountered for a while, at least not since Suey got tipped off her bike into a ford during the Theberton Camping trip in 2002. Before that, we're at the KS4 awards evening at Hartismere School, where Fred's up for a music award, then we head up to the lake at Weybread Pits for a poke around.

next album: A May Miscellany and The Harvs at Ampersand, Diss - 9th May 2024
previous album: Visible Touch at The Riverside, Woodbridge, Suffolk - 28th April 2024
