It's lashing it down at the harbour car park
The Destruction of Mrs T's Chipper, Blackshore, Southwold - 9th July 2023
Isobel and Harry are finishing up their Karate Kamp session at the Harbour campsite, so Isobel suggests driving over to meet them as apparently the weather was nice on the coast. However, by the time of arrival it's lashing it down, so we all sit in the van for a bit until the rain stops. Then Isobel goes for a quick swim, and after that we wander up Blackshore Quay to see the tragic remains of Mrs T's fish and chip shed, which burned down a few weeks before. In-between, we buy a line and a bucket so Harry can do a bit of crabbing.

Harry waits outside the bogs in the rain
Harry waits for something to happen
Isobel goes for a quick swim as Harry watches
We've got the beach almost all to ourselves
There's a dead dogfish or mini shark on the beach
Harry considers some sort of tree stump
There are some nice lilac flowers in the dunes
Some sea-thistle is in flower
We head back to the van and car
Harry does a bit of crabbing on Blackshore Quay
The river is very flat and calm
There's a seagull explosion over in Walberswick
Harry catches a decent-sized crab
Harry peers into the river
Blackshore Quay
People arrive from Walberswick on the ferry
We walk up towards the fish huts
There's a big pile of crab pots on the quay
The tragic remains of Mrs T's fish and chip shop
The burned-out Mrs T's chipper
The sheds next door have fared even worse
Charred remains and the burnt stern of a boat
A boat with its stern burned off
The fresh fish shed is still going
We get a couple of pints of prawns
Harry with a can of Fanta in the fish shed
A little flotilla of Lasers is towed up the river
Laser dinghies on the River Blyth
Harry roams around
Boats head out of the river
