A Day in New Milton, Hampshire - 3rd April 2023
Sean sends a tip-off that Phil's coming over from the US as it's his mother's birthday, so a rail trip is booked down to New Milton for a couple of days. Sean's off on the Monday, so we get a chance to hang out and go for a walk around Keyhaven, before dinner out with Phil and the gang at The Globe in Highcliffe. There are also a couple of soul-selling trips to the Conservative Club to play snooker, an evening at Bernice's for drinks and nibbles, and a visit to the Bournemouth Museum of Aviation whilst Phil, Olli and the rest do Adventure Wonderland. The museum's a bit like Flixton in that it's a bit chaotic and the exhibits have clearly been sitting outside for a while, but it's great because you can climb into most of them and use the controls to pretend to fly and shoot at stuff. Before all of that, we visit Weybread Boat Club for a very windy 20 minutes to have a shufti around and see what's about, then we're dropping Fred off at Framlingham College for his five-day music residential, prior to the Suffolk Youth Wind Orchestra's performance at Snape Maltings.
Soundtrack for this album:
next album: Fred and the Orchestra, Snape Maltings, Suffolk - 5th April
previous album: Dolphin House Fire and an Escape Room, Diss and Norwich - 26th March 2023
