Purple flowers in a field margin at Thornham Parva
The BSCC at Burston and The Legend of Swallow Aquatics, East Harling, Norfolk - 15th May 2022
It had long been rumoured that people would take their children to Swallow Aquatics for a free day out, on account of it being almost like being at the zoo, and once we arrive it's easy to see why as there are hundreds of tanks of interesting fish, snakes, tortoises, turtles and all sorts of lizards, as well as seemingly hundreds of family groups roaming around, a lot of which were suspiciously not buying much. We're there, however, on a genuine fact-finding mission as Fred is interested in getting a corn snake for his room, so we look around building up a list of things we would need - and how much pocket money would be required to fund it. After that, we head in to Norwich on another mission to find some sort of toy Light Sabre for Harry, which we eventually succeed in thanks to the toy department of Jarrold. After that, it's an almost-compulsory visit to Pizza Express for some early tea - proving once again that if you visit these sort of places at odd times, they're nice and empty, as by the time actual tea-time rolls around the place is packed. Before all of that, the remains of the BSCC are out at the Burston Crown, with a stop-off at the Ampersand Tap in Diss on the way home.
