Arnewood School Class of '83 Reunion, Fawcett's Field, New Milton - 2nd November 2002
It's nearly 20 years since Nosher did a bunch of 'O' Levels and left school, and - courtesy of "Friends Reunited" - it's discovered that there's a school reunion. It's being held at the Rugby Club on the edge of Fawcett's Field in New Milton, so Nosher drives down and crashes with Hamish. It's an interesting night - most people there have not been seen since school, and although Nosher was in a bit of a funk about life in general at the time, it turns out to be a quite cathartic experience. Whilst there, there's also a quick look at the school itself, including the SCOLA building. SCOLA was an acronym for Second Consortium Of Local Authorities, a group which oversaw this and other broadly-similar school buildings constructed around the country from a kit of standard components (it followed on from the similar CLASP project of the late 1950s). The other building at the front of the school was ROSLA, which stood for "Raising of the School Leaving Age".
