One of the gates to the old city
A Day Trip to Tallinn, Estonia - 2nd December 1999
Sis and Nosher get the ferry from Helsinki over to Tallinn in Estonia. There was something of an assumption that we would see loads of austere Communist architecture from the 1960s, thanks to Estonia's previous life as a Soviet Bloc country, but instead there's a very pleasant Mediaeval city with hints of Carcassonne, along with the sort of gentle decay that always seems attractive when it's somewhere else.
next album: New Year's Eve at The Swan Inn, Brome, Suffolk - 31st December 1999
previous album: A Trip to Rovaniemi and the Arctic Circle, Lapland, Finland - 28th November 1999
