The lounge has been extensively covered up
Moving In, Brome, Suffolk - 10th April 1994
Nosher's bought a house a few miles up the road from the old rented pad in Stuston which is, crucially, much nearer the pub - the Swan Inn in Brome. The house, which hasn't been lived in for nearly a year, is a bit of a wreck and is also a bit of a gamble in the hope that some of the original timbers in the 18th-century part of the house have survived under all the covering ups and mangling done when an extension was added in 1958. Initial explorations in the lounge aren't promising, until it's discovered that the original frame is still present under a second layer of hardboard, but best of all that the inglenook fireplace is complete and intact, hiding as it is behind a 1950s glazed-tile fireplace.
