The pylon upgrades are on again
The GSB at Sheila's Books and Band Event, Wickham Skeith, Suffolk - 30th October 2023
The Gislingham Silver Band is doing a gig at St. Andrew's in Wickham Skeith on the invitation of Sheila Wright, author and wife of former flugelhorn player Ron, who retired from the band a few months ago at the age of 92. The idea of the gig is for Sheila to sell a few of the leftover printings of the many books she's written, and there's a good turnout for the event, which includes a nice buffet which the boys mill into.
next album: Another Afternoon at the Zoo, Banham, Norfolk - 1st October 2023
previous album: The Waverley Paddle Steamer at Southwold Pier, Suffolk - 27th September 2023
There are big pulleys hanging on the pylons
Isobel's in The Handyman in Eye
Harry looks up to the roof
Adrian wanders down the nave
Fred has a bit of a warm up
Terry hangs around by the bass drum
Fred in his new, larger, jacket
It's interval time
There's a load of nice buffet food on the go
Ron wanders around on his walking frame
Sheila sells some of her books
Sheila chats to a book buyer
There's a reasonable turnout in the church
Some of the band have an interval chat
Harry points to a Harry Potter gravestone
The boys go off to look for conkers
Back in the church
David checks his phone
A bench has seen better days
Harry roams around in the churchyard
